Job summary

Itec Skills and Employment is seeking a Regional Counsellor to deliver one-to-one and group counselling, helping learners identify needs and barriers to progression. You will develop external partnerships, signpost clients, and facilitate wellbeing workshops.

You will work face-to-face or remotely via telephone or digital platforms, establishing trusted therapeutic relationships, agreeing counselling contracts, and recording sessions in line with data protection and the BACP framework.

Qualifications

• A recognised diploma or degree in Counselling.
• Experience of working with young people and adults in a counselling setting.
• A member of the BACP or equivalent.
• Ability to work with an integrated counselling approach and knowledge of ethics.
• Knowledge of CORE or equivalent outcome measures.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking counselling sessions one-to-one or in groups to support learners.
• Maintain and develop external partnerships to share best practice and signpost clients.
• Facilitate wellbeing talks and workshops.
• Agree a counselling contract with each learner and build trust through active listening.
• Record and maintain records in line with data protection and confidentiality arrangements.
• Provide guidance, support and advice to all learners and staff as appropriate.
• Work in partnership with external organisations for signposting and referrals.
