Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our Regional Build team in Birmingham. The role focuses on delivering expert health, safety and wellbeing advice to project teams and driving a positive safety culture across regional operations.

You will lead site inspections, audits and investigations, coaching teams in policy compliance and continuous improvement. Strong knowledge of UK legislation and stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice required.
• Membership of IOSH or IIRSM expected.
• Significant experience in construction industry, preferably with a principal contractor or similar.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and construction best practice.
• Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert health, safety and wellbeing advice and support to Tilbury Douglas project teams across the region.
• Undertake site inspections, audits and investigations, ensuring findings are communicated and improvement actions are implemented.
• Coach, mentor and support operational teams in applying health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to promote best practice and drive continuous improvement.
• Support the delivery of training, incident investigations and regional initiatives that enhance health, safety and wellbeing performance.
