Job summary

CISWO - The Coal Mining Charity in Mansfield with regional travel is seeking a part-time Community Welfare Assistant (South). The role supports local miners' welfare charities with governance, funding, financial sustainability, and trustee training, reporting to the Development Manager in the South region.

You will engage with local volunteer trustees, deliver training and resources, undertake site visits, and help develop tools that respond to community needs. Some evening work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in community development or charity sector.
  • Experience supporting or working with volunteers.
  • Experience designing and delivering training.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Teamwork with flexible, creative service delivery.
  • GCSE Maths and English (C/4 or above).
  • Ability to work some evening hours.

Responsibilities

  • Support creation of tools, resources and training content for trustees.
  • Develop policies and procedure templates for trustees.
  • Deliver training and networking events for trustees.
  • Undertake site visits and engage with local charity trustees.
  • Coordinate in-person and online training and forums.
  • Gather evidence for funding applications and reporting.
  • Monitor and report on funding activities and outcomes.
  • Support marketing to raise CISWO awareness and services.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on miners' welfare charities.
  • Use databases for recording, evaluation and impact reporting.
