Job Description:

Oliver Sanderson is engaged with a global listed business in Europe, one of the world’s leading engineering companies. A matrix business with a fantastic UK arm that you will help lead as Commercial Director.

The Commercial Director will sit within the senior leadership team and report to the regional Managing Director. The role involves full responsibility for governance and control of all commercial activities and processes across the business, with a focus on maximizing profitability and cash control.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring robust reporting.
• Delivering profitable contracts and projects.
• Effective cash management and timely revenue collection.
• Conducting regular profit reviews.
• P&L management and accountability.
• Leading, training, and developing the commercial team.
• Producing accurate forecasts and reports.
• Engaging with C-Suite and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial management, including managing large P&L (~£100M), knowledge of building legislation, financial and commercial billing experience, and strong negotiation skills. Industry experience in engineering or related sectors, especially social housing, refurbishments, refits, maintenance, or sustainability, is preferred.
