Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a highly motivated Regional Chef Manager to oversee kitchen operations across our North division. You will lead and develop kitchen teams, plan menus, and deliver high quality, home‑cooked meals to residents within budget.

The role requires proven care‑home cooking experience, NVQs in Cooking, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety, IDDSI training, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Chef in a Care Home environment.
  • NVQs in Cooking, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety.
  • IDDSI Training and knowledge of textured modified diets.
  • Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee kitchen operations in North region across multiple homes.
  • Lead, mentor and coach kitchen teams to maximise potential.
  • Plan menus and ensure high quality, home-cooked meals within budget and dietary requirements.
  • Ensure all food safety, health & safety documentation and EHO guidelines are up to date.
  • Oversee food purchasing and deliveries, receipts and supplier relationships.

Job description

The role will assist in the covering of Chef Manager positions at home level where we have vacancies, annual leave or extended periods of absence. The role will oversee and be responsible for all kitchen team members in the preparation, cooking and delivering the full dining experience. This includes high quality home cooked nutritional meals and snacks for residents and visitors which contribute to the overall wellbeing of the residents within the budgets agreed., To work in conjunction with other departments within the home to ensure the overall culinary experience is consistently delivered to a high standard to all residents, visitors and team members. To provide supervision, mentoring and coaching for all kitchen team members using instruction and demonstration to maximise and develop all kitchen team members' skills to their full potential. To ensure all food safety & health & safety documentation is up to date and completed to ensure safe practices and meeting EHO guidelines. To manage, co-ordinate and oversee the kitchen Rota for all catering team members. To oversee food purchasing and deliveries using nominated suppliers for the homes you are covering. Receipting of goods using company processes, procedures and online systems. Prepare and cook all daily meals for residents, and provide catering for special occasions and events, such as individual birthday cakes. To cater for all resident nutritional needs such as special diets and allergies meeting where appropriate IDDSI guidelines. Flexibility and creativity to develop specials menus meeting resident requirements.
