Job summary

Brandon Trust in Devon and Cornwall is seeking an experienced Retail Area Manager to lead a cluster of charity shops, delivering strong commercial performance and inclusive environments. You will coach Shop Managers and volunteers to achieve high standards while maintaining excellent community engagement.

The role requires travel across Devon and Cornwall, with regular Shop visits and occasional trips to Brandon locations.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple retail sites or teams.
• Strong commercial awareness with track record of results.
• Knowledge of charity retail trends and challenges.
• Good understanding of Devon & Cornwall area and growth opportunities.
• Excellent leadership to motivate and develop others.
• Comfort with using data to drive improvements.
• Experience budgeting and operational improvements.
• Commitment to inclusion and creating opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a cluster of charity shops across Devon and Cornwall.
• Drive sales and income growth through retail practices, pricing, merchandising, stock management and promotions.
• Monitor KPIs and take action to improve results.
• Coach and develop Shop Managers, staff and volunteers to maintain standards.
• Support employment, training and volunteering opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
• Ensure excellent customer service and high visual merchandising across shops.
• Maintain health and safety, safeguarding and procedures compliance.
• Build partnerships with local communities to raise Brandon's profile and income.
• Support opens, refurbishments and improvement projects.
