RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
Job description

Join an expanding referral team in their centre based in Surrey. Are you ready to take the next step in your nursing career at a state-of-the-art referral centre dedicated to delivering exceptional care to small animals across the South-East?

This team is continuing to grow following an exciting relaunch in 2024, and they are now looking for a passionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to join this expanding team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of shaping the clinic’s future as they build a strong leadership structure and prepare for further development.

You will be working alongside experienced specialists and Advanced Veterinary Practitioners in medicine, ophthalmology, and surgery, allowing you to develop your clinical skills in anaesthesia, advanced diagnostic imaging, surgical support, and inpatient care. Facilities include cutting-edge equipment such as CT, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, a radioactive iodine treatment ward, and a dedicated cat ward, all of which support them in delivering the highest standard of care.

As part of a 40-hour working week, your rota will include some weekend and night work on a fair rotation with the rest of the nursing team. This schedule reflects the commitment to being always there for patients and their owners, ensuring continuity of care around the clock.

They also believe in looking after their people just as much as patients. From your first day, you’ll have access to a comprehensive health cash plan, covering services such as dental, physiotherapy, and optical care, as well as a 24/7 private GP service. Your wellbeing matters which is why they also offer confidential counselling support whenever you need it.

They provide a generous annual leave allowance of five weeks plus bank holidays, increasing to six weeks with length of service, along with an additional paid ‘Day for You’ to use however you choose. They also support your ongoing development with a £750 annual CPD budget and two days of paid CPD leave, plus access to internal learning resources and funded certificate opportunities. Your RCVS and VDS fees are fully covered, and you’ll benefit from a Cycle to Work scheme and staff discounts.

In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining the clinic’s high standards of care and professionalism. You will assist in surgical procedures, support nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities, monitor inpatients, manage admissions and discharges, and handle medication dispensing and compliance with clinical protocols. Your input will be essential in delivering briefings and supporting team coordination to ensure smooth and effective daily operations.

They seek an RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse who is not only clinically skilled but also passionate about teamwork and delivering exceptional care. You should be confident in your ability to manage nursing responsibilities independently while contributing positively to a collaborative environment. Experience supporting nurse consultations and using coaching or mentoring skills to elevate team performance would be highly valued.

If you're motivated by clinical excellence, eager to develop within a referral setting, and ready to join a team that values compassion, expertise, and support, we’d love to hear from you.
