Job summary

Brackenberry Ltd is working with a local authority in Brentwood to appoint a Refuse Driver on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion.

The role involves driving refuse collection vehicles and supporting the collection and disposal of household and commercial waste safely and efficiently. You will work as part of a team to ensure rounds are completed to a high standard while following health and safety, environmental and operational procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicles safely.
• Carry out scheduled refuse and recycling rounds.
• Assist with loading and unloading containers as needed.
• Ensure waste is collected and transported under health and safety regulations.
• Interact professionally with the public during collection duties.

Job description

We are working closely with a local authority in Brentwood to assist with the appointment of a Refuse Driver, on a 6-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.

Rate of Pay: £17.28- £22.13 per hour

Summary:

Refuse Driver to join the environmental services team in Brentwood. The role involves driving refuse collection vehicles and supporting the collection and disposal of household and commercial waste safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, ensuring refuse collection rounds are completed to a high standard while complying with health and safety, environmental and operational procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Drive HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Carry out scheduled refuse and recycling collection rounds in accordance with operational requirements.
• Assist with loading, handling and emptying refuse and recycling containers where required.
• Ensure waste is collected and transported in accordance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Deal professionally and courteously with members of the public when carrying out collection duties.

Qualifications:

• Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Relevant waste management or environmental services training would be advantageous.

Essentials:

• Previous experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles is essential.
• Experience working as a refuse driver/loader would be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of vehicle safety checks and safe driving practices.
• Good understanding of health and safety, manual handling and safe working practices.
