Yorwaste Ltd is hiring a Recycling Collection Vehicle (RCV) Driver for the Harewood Whin Transfer Station in York. The role is permanent, full-time with 48 hours per week, 5 AM to 5:30 PM, Tue-Fri (12-hour shifts).

Base pay £17.04/hour with progression to £45,241.80 potential, plus benefits. As an RCV Driver you will collect recycling material, manage routes, and liaise with transport planners to ensure efficient service while maintaining safety and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• Category C Licence (Class 2) with no disqualifications.
• Driver CPC is required for professional driving duties.

Pay: £17.04 per hour

Secure base salary of £42,648.80 plus performance-related progression up to £45,241.80.

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 48 hpw – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – 12 hours per day – start time 5 AM until 5:30 PM (Half hour lunch deducted).

Yorwaste’s Drivers are responsible for providing services to our commercial customers across York and North Yorkshire. Working independently, you will show good management of personal workload, ensuring the safe operation and driving of our various vehicles, in-line with our health and safety standards.

As an RCV Driver, you will be responsible for the collection of recycling material including food waste. You will demonstrate good organisational and time-management skills, adapting to varying routes and schedules based on the evolving needs of our clients and the business. Being a positive and enthusiastic person, you will be able to adapt to operational obstacles that may arise in varying weather conditions. Excellent communication skills are required to coordinate regularly with our transport planners and the wider team, ensuring an efficient and friendly service.

This is a permanent, full-time position, Tuesday to Friday- 12 hours per day – start time 5 AM until 5:30 PM (Half hour lunch deducted).

This position does require lone working. You may be required to work additional hours and bank holidays, so availability during these times is important, as is the ability to cover holidays and sickness as needed.

Essential Qualifications

• Category C Drivers Licence (Class 2) with no historical driving disqualifications.
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
