Job summary

Branta Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to diagnose, repair and maintain commercial refrigeration and cooling plants across multi-site environments. You will ensure safety, reliability and compliance while delivering first-visit fixes where possible.

You will diagnose root causes, provide accurate quotations and support central technical staff. The role includes 1-in-4 emergency rota coverage and out-of-hours breakdowns with a focus on customer care and professional service.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial refrigeration experience.
• Current F-Gas certification and City & Guilds or equivalent refrigeration qualification.
• Ability to read schematics, set controls and decide repair vs. replace on ageing plant.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK; DBS check may be required for sites housing vulnerable people.
• Clear written notes and professional communication; able to work solo and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Restore and maintain commercial refrigeration, cold rooms and cooling plant to safe operation on site.
• Complete planned maintenance with emphasis on leak detection and fault prevention.
• Diagnose root causes and advise on repair vs replacement options.
• Provide accurate equipment, parts and labour data for quotations.
• Cover a 1-in-4 emergency rota and attend out-of-hours breakdowns with consistent customer care.
