Job summary

Caval Limited in Milton Keynes is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to manage refrigeration package installations on retail sites. You will coordinate site activities and ensure adherence to project design specifications.

The role is field-based with occasional home/office work, a company car, pension and training opportunities. You will work with a range of stakeholders, ensure HSE compliance, and support asset records and networked controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as Refrigeration Engineer in retail projects.
• City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• F-Gas qualification: City & Guilds 2079, BESA F-Gas, CITB J11, or LCL F-Gas.
• Understanding of RS232/RJ485, Cat5e/Cat6 networks, and peripheral controls/interfaces.
• Good communicator, able to deal with a range of people and tasks.
• Well organised, self-starter, able to implement procedures.

Responsibilities

• Report to Operations Director.
• Conduct engineering and technical surveys.
• Assess existing controls, networks and access routes.
• Evaluate existing services for reuse.
• Disconnect and isolate M&E services for decommissioned fixtures.
• Maintain functionality during decommissioning.
• Ensure systems remain updated and operable.
• Assist with installation of new equipment (plant, gas coolers, cabinets).
• Install and test control/sensor wiring and networks.
• Support equipment evaluations and site surveys for reuse.
• Tag assets and update system records.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years' experience working as a Refrigeration Engineer completing refrigeration projects within the retail sector
• City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• F-Gas qualification: City & Guilds 2079, BESA F-Gas, CITB J11, or LCL F-Gas
• Understanding of RS232/RJ485 2/4 wire, Cat5e/Cat6 networks, and peripheral controls/interfaces.
• Good communicator, able to deal with a range of people, tasks and obligations
• Well organised, self-starter, able to implement procedures and effectively manage all aspects of the works
• Commercial knowledge and ability to negotiate terms with a range of parties
