Job summary

Parker Jones Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Service Engineer for a field-based role covering London and the South East, with most work centered around East London.

The successful candidate will perform PPM, reactive maintenance, servicing and commissioning, split roughly 50/50 between refrigeration and air conditioning. There is a path to leadership as the service division grows within the family-run business.

Qualifications

• Proven background in refrigeration and/or air conditioning service engineering.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Able to work independently across varied commercial environments.
• Willing to cover London and surrounding areas.
• Preferably based in Essex, East London or Kent; not self-employed.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Refrigeration / Air Conditioning Service Engineer to join a growing, family‑run building services business. This is a field‑based role covering London and the South Eastern region, with the majority of work centred around East London.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive breakdowns, servicing and commissioning works
• Maintain a majority service‑focused workload (~95%) with a small proportion of installation work
• Work across commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems (approximately 50/50 split)
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
• Represent the company professionally across client sites
• Support the growth and structure of the service function as it develops

Candidate Requirements

• Proven background in refrigeration and/or air conditioning service engineering
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
• Confident working independently across varied commercial environments
• Ability to manage workload and respond effectively to reactive demands
• Must be able to work across London and surrounding areas
• Ideally based in Essex, East London or Kent (East London preferred)
• Short notice period preferred
• Must not be self‑employed

• £45,000 – £50,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
