Job summary

Swift Referrals in Wetherby is seeking a residency-trained veterinary surgeon to join a specialist-led team with a strong reputation for clinical excellence across Northern and Central England.

You will work in soft tissue, orthopaedic and neurology surgery within a collaborative multidisciplinary referral hospital, with opportunities to develop clinical interests and participate in CPD. A 4-day week (10-hour shifts) and minimal on-call work support a strong work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Residency-trained or board-certified (ECVS/ACVS) or board-eligible, with significant referral-level experience.
• Excellent communication with clients, referring vets and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied and complex referral caseload across soft tissue, neurology and orthopaedic surgery.
• Deliver advanced surgical procedures and maintain high patient care standards.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary referral environment and mentor colleagues.
• Support and mentor colleagues and contribute to service growth.
