Roxel UK Ltd. in Summerfield, Kidderminster, invites applications for a Quality Engineer (Production/Project) to support quality assurance on serial production and drive continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Production Quality Team Leader, you will implement quality processes, read GD&T, conduct product audits, manage MRB actions, and collaborate with operations to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with EN9100 and customer requirements.
Qualifications
- Essential: engineering diploma
- Desirable: EN9100 Lead Auditor
- Def Stan/AQAP knowledge desirable
- Experience in quality engineering, manufacturing or regulated engineering environment
Responsibilities
- Support the Production Quality Assurance Team Leader to achieve business goals and targets
- Report in-production quality KPIs (DPU, NCF, PP, etc.) and support corrective actions using root cause methodologies
- Read technical drawings and understand GD&T
- Undertake product audits to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement
- Compile Quality/Control plans to determine inspections, tests, acceptance criteria
- Lead and support MRB to ensure timely resolution of non-conformance
- Liaise with Supplier Quality Assurance to minimize production disruption
- Support internal/external accreditation audits to maintain EN9100

Reporting to: Quality Team Leader
Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £250M and nearly 1000 staff, with 300 in the UK.
The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield, Kidderminster where we now have a requirement for a Quality Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work on highly complex, safety‑critical products while supporting production, continuous improvement and customer quality requirements.
Working in close cooperation with operations and reporting directly to the Production Quality Team Leader, the purpose of this role is to support the implementation of all aspects of quality assurance for serial production products within Roxel UK Ltd. Support Operations with the day‑to‑day implementation of product quality and drive improvements in addition to Working collaboratively with multifunctional teams to improve performance. Making step changes to business performance through structured Quality activities that achieve On Time on Quality on Cost of all operational areas. Support the training and mentorship of the Production Quality Assurance Team adhere to our portfolio of Quality approvals including EN9100 accreditations, customer requirements & Roxel standards. Act as the Team focal point for providing support to Continuous Improvement activities in the Operational areas.
- Support the Production Quality Assurance Team Leader to achieve business goals and targets
- Report in‑production quality KPIs (DPU’s, NCFs, PP’s etc) and support corrective actions as appropriate using Root Cause and Corrective Action methodologies (8D, fishbone, 5 why)
- Ensure that all drawings, specifications and requirements are adhered to (Internal & external customer satisfaction)
- Read technical drawings and understand GD&T
- Undertake Product Audits to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement
- Complete Buy off / source inspections where appropriate including associated corrective actions and root cause analysis
- Compile Quality / Control plans to determine inspections, tests, acceptance criteria, and responsibilities needed to ensure deliverables meet requirements
- Compile Delivery Review Boards (DRB) to ensure product compliance is achieved prior to delivery
- Compile First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and ensure any changes to product or process are documented as per EN9102
- Compile Certificate of Conformance (CofC) and act as the release authority.
- Lead and support material review boards (MRB) to ensure control & timely resolution of non‑compliance
- Liaise with the Supplier Quality Assurance Team to ensure all supply issues affecting the operational areas are dealt with in a timely manner and with the absolute minimum of disruption to production throughput
- Provide support to all Internal / external accreditation audits to maintain EN9100 accreditation
- Provide support to technical investigations
- Provide support to Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Provide support to Build Station Reviews (BSR)
- Undertake other reasonable duties, in line with business needs and objectives, which are consistent and commensurate with the overall purpose of the position
Qualification:
- Essential Qualifications
- National Diploma / Higher National Diploma (or equivalent) in relevant discipline in engineering
- Desirable Qualifications
- EN9100 Lead Auditor preferred
- Def Stan/AQAP knowledge preferred
Experience:
