Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking a Yard Operative in Baldock to join a busy recycling facility. The role is hands-on and temporary, with work at the yard and on-site activities from Monday to Friday, in a safe outdoor environment.

You must be physically fit, reliable and able to work well in a team; driving licence and transport access are essential. Pay rate ranges £13.00–£13.50 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in recycling, waste management, warehouse, manufacturing or yard environments is beneficial but not essential.
• Physically fit and happy carrying out manual work.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Able to work well as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to transport.

Responsibilities

• Sorting and separating recyclable materials on the picking line.
• Identifying and removing non‑recyclable materials.
• Maintaining a clean and organised working area.
• Assisting with general yard duties as required.
• Following all health and safety procedures.
• Working safely around machinery and site vehicles.
• Supporting the team to ensure efficient daily operations.
