Job summary

DSM LTD based at our MRF recycling facility in Sheffield is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead a small team on a 4-on/4-off nights schedule. You will report to the Operations Manager and supervise shift operations, drive production targets, maintain logs, and uphold health and safety standards.

Experience in recycling and a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role are preferred; IOSH qualification would be advantageous. Training provided for licenses as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise shift operations at a busy MRF under the Operations Manager.
• Day-to-day management of a small team alongside the operations manager.
• Help achieve daily production targets and maximise production time.
• Maintain Shift Logs and provide daily feedback on performance.
• Ensure 2-hour clean down is carried out to a high standard.
• Maximise segregation of recyclable materials at the facility.
• Control housekeeping to maintain safety and comply with SOPs.
• Promote a culture focused on health and safety.
• Ensure equipment is used and maintained safely; report defects.
• Ensure DSM complies with legal health and safety duties.
• Perform any other duties within the scope of the job role.

This position is based at our MRF plant in Sheffield S4

The working hours are 17.30 till 05.30 on a 4 on 4 off rota

As an MRF Shift Supervisor at DSM recycling facility in Sheffield, you'll be contributing to an ever growing established company that's helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

What will I be doing as a MRF Supervisor?

• Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be supervising the shift operations at a busy MRF, duties will include the following.
• Day-to-day management of a small team alongside the operations manager
• Assist site management to ensure daily production targets are achieved & production time is maximised at the facility.
• Maintain Shift Log's and provide daily feedback on performance to teams.
• Ensure the 2hr clean down is carried out to a high standard
• Ensure the segregation of all recyclable materials at the facility is maximised.
• Control Housekeeping activities to ensure all are carried out in a safe manner and conform to the Safe Systems of Work and Company Policies.
• Promote a culture and operating process that keeps focus on health and safety.
• Ensure all work equipment within their area is used and maintained in a safe manner, all defects reported, and a high standard of housekeeping is maintained.
• Ensuring that DSM complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job role.

What are the requirements? (Experience and qualifications)

The applicant must be self-motivated and be able to work as part of a team, a flexible approach to work will be advantageous, mobile plant licenses would be advantageous, but training will be provided.

The successful candidate will either already hold or be expected to achieve.
