Job summary

A1 Jobs Ltd is seeking a Recycling Operative to join our team in the UK. You will be hands-on in sorting, handling and preparing recyclable materials within a busy facility, contributing to environmental sustainability and efficient waste processing.

Shifts rotate 4 on 4 off, days and nights, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork. No prior industrial machinery experience is required as training is provided and you will develop practical operational skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling in a recycling environment.
• Adherence to health and safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Strong teamwork and communication within a fast-paced facility.
• Willingness to learn new skills related to recycling processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and equipment used for sorting, crushing, or compacting recyclable materials with precision and safety.
• Perform heavy lifting tasks to move, load, or unload recyclable items throughout the facility.
• Conduct routine inspections of recycling lines and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety standards are met.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the work area to promote a safe working environment.
• Follow all health and safety protocols diligently, including proper use of PPE.
• Assist with the identification and separation of different types of recyclable materials to facilitate efficient processing.
• Support team members during busy periods by sharing responsibilities and maintaining a positive, energetic attitude.
