Job summary

Tendring District Council is seeking two Recycling Officers to join the Waste and Recycling Team for a six-month fixed-term contract. The posts are based in Clacton on Sea, on-site five days a week, and require access to a car for district-wide travel.

These roles involve kerbside compliance monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and promoting recycling and waste minimisation across Tendring. Salary is £30 per hour PAYE.

Responsibilities

• Kerbside compliance monitoring of our waste and recycling contractor
• Customer and contractor engagement and education to promote all aspects of recycling and waste minimisation
• Attending meetings with contractors, helping to ensure TDC are Simpler Recycling compliant
• Auditing of communal bin stores sites and installation of additional recycling provisions, customer engagement and education
• Introducing, supporting and promoting food waste collection provisions to communal properties
• Container deliveries to households
• Handling public contact via telephone and emails, and undertaking administrative tasks to support the waste and recycling service
