Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is supporting an Essex-based local authority in recruiting a Recycling Officer for a six-month fixed-term contract. The role is on site five days a week to drive the introduction of a simpler recycling compliant collection service for residents.

Key duties include monitoring kerbside compliance, education for residents and contractors, and auditing communal bin stores while expanding food waste provisions to communal properties.

The Role:

An Essex based local authority are seeking a Recycling Officer to join their Waste and Recycling Team on a six-month fixed term contract to support the team introduce simpler recycling compliant collection service to the residents of the district. This role will require you to be on site 5 days a week.

The role will involve, but not limited to:

• Kerbside compliance monitoring of our waste and recycling contractor
• Customer and contractor engagement and education to promote all aspects of recycling and waste minimisation
• Attending meetings with contractors, helping to ensure TDC are Simpler Recycling compliant
• Auditing of communal bin stores sites and installation of additional recycling provisions, customer engagement and education
• Introducing, supporting and promoting food waste collection provisions to communal properties
• Container deliveries to households
• Handling public contact via telephone and emails, as well as undertaking administrative and operational tasks to support the effective and efficient operation of the Council waste and recycling service
