Hires Group in Exeter is redefining recruitment with a training-first consultant role. You’ll run searches, speak to top talent and start building your own client relationships from day one.

Base salary of £26,325 plus uncapped commission, with a realistic first-year OTE of £38k–£48k. We offer hybrid working, generous holidays, and hands-on coaching from the CEO from day one.

We've doubled in size every year since launching in 2024, and we're looking for ambitious, motivated people to join us for the next stage. No recruitment experience needed. We'll teach you everything.

You’ll join as a Recruitment Consultant and learn the ropes through our training programme, with a personalised development plan and ongoing coaching from our CEO from day one. You’ll run your own searches and speak to top talent, all while earning uncapped commission of up to 40%, with a realistic first-year OTE of £38k–£48k.

What you’ll be doing

• Building a solid understanding of our specialist markets (civil engineering and life sciences) so you can speak to people with confidence
• Sourcing and matching talent using LinkedIn, job ads and our CRM
• Writing personalised outreach that feels authentic (we don't do spam here!) and having purposeful conversations with candidates
• Screening candidates over the phone and video to understand their skills, motivations and what they're looking for next
• Presenting shortlisted candidates to clients and supporting them through the interview process
• Taking a proactive approach to finding new opportunities for your candidates, building towards managing your own client relationships

• £26,325 base salary plus uncapped commission with no threshold (the same scheme for everyone, directors included, rising to 40% at the top tier)
• Realistic first‑year OTE of £38k–£48k
