Location: London/Hybrid working
Hours: 35 hours per week, 6 month fixed term contract. This is a full-time position, but we welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time or flexible working arrangements.
About The Role
As a Recruitment Specialist you will lead and oversee all recruitment activity at RIBA, developing and driving strategies to attract, select, and onboard top talent. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in recruitment best practices and your strong relationship-building skills to collaborate with key stakeholders and hiring teams. Embracing inclusive recruitment practices will be a cornerstone of your approach, ensuring equity, diversity and inclusion are central to every aspect of the recruitment process.
You will also mentor and guide junior team members in HR, fostering their development and contributing to the overall success of the HR function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for all vacancies and assisting with the onboarding process.
- Ensure a positive and professional experience for candidates throughout the recruitment process, including timely communication and feedback.
- Design and execute innovative sourcing strategies to attract diverse and high-quality pool of candidates, including but not limited to job boards, social media, networking events, referrals, and direct sourcing.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with departments across the organisation, including senior leadership and external partners.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with preferred recruitment agencies and manage the necessary Preferred Supplier List (PSL) and agreed terms of business.
- Brand guardianship: Ensure that documents, presentations, policies etc. are presented in line with RIBA HR branding, and working with HR to ensure RIBA’s values are exemplified through the way we work.
- Analyse recruitment metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior members of the HR team.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience as a recruitment specialist, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of recruitment processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage candidates and build rapport and credibility with stakeholders.
- Customer focused approach with ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and managers.
- High level of organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using recruitment analytics tools.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality in recruitment practice.
- Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel skills and HR systems experience.
- Ability to continually review processes as well as recommending and implementing improvements.
- Confidence and authority to delegate upwards both within the HR team and cross-organisational working groups.
