• May work uncommon schedules including weekends and holidays; requires standing, walking and stooping.
• Exposure to metal splinters, loud noises, chemical fumes, cuts, burns and bruises.
• Must be physically able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds and follow safety regulations.

About the position: This position is a Flexible (Intermittent) category position located at the RAF Alconbury Auto Hobby Center in the United Kingdom. It offers 0 guaranteed hours per week and the incumbent may be required to work 0-40 hours per week, as needed. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is citizens, permanent residents, and legal residents of the United States (US) who reside within the local commuting area (60 mile radius) of RAF Alconbury, United Kingdom (UK), or will do so within the next 30 days. Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces. Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Documentation could include PCS Orders, UK Visa, etc.

Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'. A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'.

In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens (including UK dual citizens) are not eligible for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base.

Qualifying Experience:

• Must have experience with computer-based programs, copiers, telephones, customer service, retail operations, and organizational skills.
• Recommended experience with vehicle/motorcycle lifts, tire changing and balancing machines, drill press, hydraulic press, table grinder, vices, steam/pressure washers and hand power tools.
• Must be able to read, write, spell and figure basic math. Must have a clear speaking voice and be able to deal with the public.
• May work uncommon work schedule, including weekends and holidays. Requires continuous standing, walking and stooping.
• Subject to metal splinters, loud noises, chemical fumes, cuts, burns and bruises.
• Must be physically able to lift and carry items up to and including 50 pounds.
• Must be able to comply with all safety regulations and standards.
