Qualifications

  • Experience as Recovery Coordinator, Substance Misuse Worker or Support Worker in drug and alcohol services.
  • DBS check (enhanced) with update service is required or willing to obtain.
  • Full Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Hold a caseload of service users, conduct comprehensive assessments and reviews.
  • Design, implement and monitor personalised recovery plans with harm reduction focus.
  • Deliver one-to-one keyworking sessions and group facilitation for substance misuse support.
  • Liaise with clinical staff, housing providers and local agencies for holistic support.
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies for vulnerable adults.

Pay Rate: £20.00 - £22.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Temporary (3-6 months with strong opportunities for extension)

Hours: Full-time (standard business hours)

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to recovery? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Coordinator to join a well-established drug and alcohol support service in Leeds.

In this vital role, you will work directly with service users to develop personalised care plans, provide evidence-based psychosocial interventions, and empower individuals to achieve sustained recovery and reintegration into the community. This position offers a dynamic working environment with a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Hold a caseload of service users, conducting comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, and regular reviews.
  • Care Planning: Design, implement, and monitor tailored recovery plans focused on harm reduction, abstinence, and long-term wellbeing.
  • Interventions: Deliver structured one-to-one keyworking sessions and group facilitation focused on substance misuse support.
  • Partnership Working: Liaise closely with clinical staff, criminal justice services, housing providers, and other local agencies to ensure holistic support.
  • Advocacy & Safeguarding: Champion the needs of service users while strictly adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures for vulnerable adults.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working as a Recovery Coordinator, Substance Misuse Worker, or Support Worker within the drug and alcohol sector.
  • Compliance: Must hold a valid, enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check registered on the update service (or be willing to undergo one).
  • Eligibility: Full Right to Work in the UK.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, strong crisis management skills, and a non-judgemental, empathetic approach.
  • Availability: Able to commit to a 3-6 month contract starting promptly, with flexibility for extension.
