Job summary

Red Sector Recruitment Limited is seeking a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker for a client in Newham on a 3 month contract to start ASAP. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00, with pay £21-£23 per hour and an Enhanced DBS requirement.

The worker will support service users from entry through recovery, with screening, assessment, recovery planning and onward referral, aiming to reduce alcohol-related harm and promote involvement of carers, service users and the community.

Qualifications

  • DBS enhanced disclosure required (Enhanced DBS)
  • Experience in substance misuse or recovery services preferred
  • Ability to engage with service users and carers respectfully

Responsibilities

Job description

We are currently seeking a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker for our client in Newham on a 3 month contract to start ASAP.

The rate of pay will be negotiated between £21-23 an hour. This will be Full Time Contract, Monday to Friday from 09:00-17:00.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey.
  • Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral.
  • Reducing alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement.
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services.
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self determination.

An Enhanced Adults and Children’s DBS will be required for this position.
