Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a Recovery Practitioner (Band 5) to join the Theatre department at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli. This part-time role (22.5 hours per week) operates Monday to Friday between 08:00–19:00, with occasional weekend sessions.

A structured induction and ongoing education support are provided. The post requires current NMC/HCPC registration, a Diploma in theatre perioperative practice, and knowledge across surgical specialties.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) OR Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
• Knowledge of all surgical specialties within the operating department.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Registered Nurse OR Registered Operating Department Practitioner.
• Diploma in theatre perioperative practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, evidence-based care in the Recovery unit of the Main Operating Theatres.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team in a challenging environment.
• Participate in a structured induction and ongoing professional development.
• Welsh language ability is desirable and encouraged.
