Job summary
The Forward Trust in Salisbury is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help people build lasting recovery in a structured residential setting. You will contribute to a therapeutic programme and work within a one-team model to support clients daily.
Role focuses on safeguarding, compassion, and calm, professional conduct across shifts, with ongoing training and opportunities for development in a recovery-focused environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in health, social care, recovery or residential settings.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Emotional resilience with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A professional, boundaried and compassionate approach.
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles.
- Commitment to recovery-focused and trauma-informed practice.
Responsibilities
- Support clients to engage in daily routines, wellbeing activities and the therapeutic programme.
- Promote structure, communal responsibilities and positive recovery habits.
- Maintain a safe, respectful and supportive living environment.
- Monitor welfare, safeguarding and behavioural concerns, escalating where needed.
- Support medication processes (including eMAR where trained).
- Complete accurate, up-to-date records and handovers.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents or client needs.
- Work closely with colleagues across all departments as part of one team.
