Job summary

Carlisle House, part of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist service users on their recovery journey. You will provide compassionate, confidential support and help create a safe, therapeutic environment in the centre.

The role requires flexible hours—including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins—alongside commitment to Christian ethos, and collaboration with staff to maintain high standards of care and documentation.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or equivalent.
• Experience or strong interest in supporting individuals with substance misuse.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and sleepovers.
• Registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council or willingness to register.
• Commitment to the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe, welcoming environment for service users by following all policies.
• Encourage residents to engage in recreational and therapeutic activities.
• Use a collaborative approach to support conversations and recovery.
• Administer medication according to Carlisle House policy with accuracy.
• Assist with emergencies, appointments, and health and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate confidential records as required.
