Job summary

New Start is a family-run, not-for-profit organisation delivering residential and supported accommodation for vulnerable groups in Merseyside. The Relational Support Practitioner will help at the Step-down recovery service in Liverpool, supporting residents and maintaining a safe site.

The role requires 3 days on/3 days off shifts, a contributory pension, and development opportunities up to Level 5, with 225 hours annual leave rising to 306 with service. DBS check applies.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Housing/Health and Social Care or working towards this qualification.
• Ability to accurately record information e.g., case notes, support plans and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Promote / facilitate therapeutic support to service users in an abstinence-based setting.
• Support service users to achieve their goals and targets as defined in their recovery plan.
• Support service users to maintain contact with specialist agencies such as primary care and mental health services, DWP etc.
• Encourage group-living environments that empower service users to participate in the recovery community.
• Support positive recreational time for service users; promote involvement in on-site and external activities.
• Support service users to work towards their future goals as part of their plan for a positive and sustainable future.
• Support pathways referral and assessment processes.
• Organise meetings and reviews including case conferences and interagency meetings.
