Job description

Recovery Practitioner - Wokingham

We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Practitioner, specializing in working with a caseload of vulnerable women, to join a substance misuse charity on an initial temporary basis.

This is a 2-month contract, requiring on-site presence from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

This role is ideal for someone experienced with substance misuse issues who is looking to advance their career within an organization that supports personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist clients at program entry and identify appropriate recovery plans.
  2. Minimize harm caused by drugs and alcohol to clients and the community.
  3. Act as an advocate for partnership services.
  4. Support service users' social reintegration, encouraging self-determination, resilience, and recovery.
  5. Facilitate group sessions providing structured information at various recovery stages.
Experience Required:
  1. Thorough awareness of substance misuse issues or experience in a related field.
  2. Strong understanding of drug and alcohol services, interventions, and best practices.
  3. Ability to manage change while prioritizing service user interests.
  4. Knowledge of information governance procedures and safety measures.
