Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a First Level Registered Nurse with an NMC PIN to join the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS) in East Renfrewshire. You will undertake assessments, care planning, physical health monitoring and harm reduction interventions within a multidisciplinary team, with outreach across East Renfrewshire.

The successful candidate will provide holistic nursing care, support vulnerable service users and work collaboratively with partner services.

Qualifications

• First Level Registered Nurse qualification.
• Current and valid NMC UK PIN.
• Knowledge of alcohol and drug recovery services and harm reduction approaches.
• Understanding of risk assessment and care planning processes.
• Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, adult and child protection procedures.
• Understanding of mental and physical health promotion principles.
• Awareness of equality, diversity, dignity and respect in care delivery.
• Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with service users and carers.
• Strong communication and partnership‑working skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload within a multidisciplinary team.
• Undertake holistic assessments, risk assessments and care planning.
• Deliver nursing care tailored to individual needs in the least restrictive manner possible.
• Support mental and physical wellbeing through health promotion activities.
• Identify and respond to issues such as vulnerability, domestic abuse, child and adult protection concerns, gender-specific needs and self-harm.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with service users and carers.
• Ensure care is delivered with dignity, equality and respect while recognising cultural and spiritual diversity.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to ensure coordinated care.
