About the Service

Likewise supports people across Sheffield who are experiencing challenges with drugs and alcohol, helping individuals make positive and sustainable changes to their lives.

As a Recovery Navigator within our Recovery Navigation Team, you’ll support adults aged 18 and over experiencing addiction to opiates and alcohol. You’ll work directly with individuals throughout their treatment and recovery journey, providing tailored support and psychosocial interventions based around their individual needs.

You’ll manage your own caseload and work collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations to help individuals reduce substance-related harm, improve their health and wellbeing and progress from initial engagement through structured treatment towards sustained recovery.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage a caseload, developing, implementing and reviewing individual recovery and treatment plans.
  • Support individuals from initial engagement through structured treatment towards sustained recovery.
  • Deliver psychosocial interventions to support individuals throughout treatment.
  • Provide harm reduction advice and support to reduce substance-related harm.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with the people accessing the service.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and records.
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need

We welcome people from a variety of professional and academic backgrounds. You may have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Substance misuse or drug and alcohol services.
  • Mental health support.
  • Criminal justice.
  • Case management or supporting people with complex needs.
  • Relevant volunteering experience within a similar service.

You’ll also need strong communication and relationship-building skills, a compassionate and non-judgemental approach, and the ability to manage your own caseload and expectations within an emotionally demanding environment.
