Job summary

Phoenix Futures in Newcastle is seeking a Housing Support Worker to provide one-to-one support to people in recovery from drug and alcohol misuse, helping them identify strengths, set goals, access training, engage with community and peer support, and build recovery capital.

You will work with the local manager on housing management tasks, ensuring compliance with housing standards, health and safety, and maintaining properties to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Desire to support people to transform their lives, with good interpersonal and listening skills.
• Background in housing, substance use, or related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to identify strengths and goals, helping individuals build recovery capital and access education and training.
• Engage with community and peer support to aid recovery journeys.
• Work with the local manager on housing management tasks to ensure compliance with housing standards, health and safety, and property maintenance.
