Job summary

CIH International Housing Group is seeking a Recovery Coordinator in Gravesend to join Substance Misuse Services on a full-time locum basis. The role runs Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00, with an initial 3-month contract and potential extension.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within substance misuse, recovery services, mental health, social care, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of recovery-focused approaches and substance misuse interventions.
  • Experience managing caseloads and delivering person-centred support plans.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and promoting positive change.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support, advice, and guidance to individuals experiencing substance misuse issues.
  • Develop and implement personalised recovery plans tailored to individual needs and recovery goals.
  • Monitor, review, and evaluate service user progress, updating support plans where necessary.
  • Deliver one-to-one interventions and facilitate group sessions to promote recovery and positive outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support, motivation, and practical advice throughout the recovery journey.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date records in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, housing providers, employment services, and other partner agencies.
  • Promote harm reduction strategies and encourage engagement with appropriate treatment and support services.
  • Support individuals in accessing education, employment, training, housing, and community resources to aid recovery.
