Job description

Waythrough, formerly Humankind, launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down barriers that prevent people from accessing support to live valued lives. We address poverty and disadvantage through mental health, substance misuse, housing, and related support services.

We operate nearly 200 services across England, supported by approximately 3,500 staff and volunteers, helping around 125,000 people annually.

As we integrate our systems and processes post-merger, some roles are still branded under Humankind, but full integration is underway.

Recovery Co-ordinator

Working hours: 37 hours, Monday-Friday, with one late night per week.

Based at Unity under the New Vision Bradford partnership, launched on 1 April 2023, which includes Waythrough, the Bridge Project, Project 6, and Creative Strength. This partnership delivers adult substance misuse services for the Bradford District, providing a safe environment for developing life skills and confidence, helping individuals rebuild their lives and contribute to the community.

About the role...

We are seeking a full-time Recovery Coordinator on a permanent basis. Your role involves supporting service users from entry through their recovery journey, managing a caseload, and acting as a care coordinator. You will also be required to work one late night weekly.

Key Duties:
  1. Manage an adult caseload involving various substance use issues.
  2. Develop, implement, and review recovery and treatment plans.
  3. Facilitate progression from engagement to self-sustained recovery.
  4. Reduce substance-related harm to individuals and the community.
  5. Collaborate with partners and colleagues for optimal outcomes.
  6. Scripting.
  7. Support evening clinics.
About you...
  • Minimum 2 years’ full-time experience working with people with alcohol and/or drug problems or complex needs.
  • Experience managing a caseload.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to use initiative and be proactive.
