The job role includes Outpatients within the Colney Centre, Mulbarton Ward and Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy treatment areas including the Weybourne Day Unit. Paperless processes are in place for chemotherapy treatments and in development for radiotherapy with a dedicated software system. The department has a year-on-year increase in new referrals and treatments and has recently expanded the radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment areas.
The Colney Centre is open from 07:30 to 20:00 Monday to Friday and the Weybourne Day Unit runs from 08:00 – 18:00 Monday – Friday and 08:00-16:00 on Saturdays. The post holder would be required to work occasional weekends/bank holidays. You will need to be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
You will communicate with patients and their relatives, the general public and a wide range of multi-professional staff both internal and external to the Trust. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to, being the first point of contact for people visiting the department or calling in with queries, booking and managing outpatient appointments, admitting and discharging day case patients for chemotherapy, arranging transport for patients and managing waiting lists in line with the Referral to Treatment process as well as other admin related tasks.
