Job summary

PortmanDentex in York is seeking a friendly Receptionist to join our welcoming front desk team at our private dental clinic in Acomb. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week with shifts from 07:45 to 17:15 (Mon–Thu) and 07:45 to 13:15 on Fridays, at £12.71 per hour, and includes access to free on- and off-street parking.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a warm, efficient welcome and smooth front-desk operations.

Qualifications

• Previous front of house reception experience (ideally within a dental or healthcare setting).
• A positive attitude, empathetic and well-organised.
• Great communication skills, with a passion for delivering great service and building strong relationships with colleagues and patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage reception duties at the front desk.
• Assist in coordinating appointments and patient flow to keep the clinic running smoothly.
• Support a busy reception team with administrative tasks as needed.

About You
