Job summary

The Flodigarry Hotel on the Isle of Skye is seeking a friendly Receptionist to welcome guests, process check-ins and check-outs, handle room billing, and answer enquiries across channels.

You will work 5 shifts a week on a mix of mornings and evenings, with full training provided and benefits including staff meals, live-in accommodation options, weekly pay, and opportunities to progress in hospitality.

Qualifications

• Experience is preferred, but full training will be provided.
• Genuine interest in hospitality and guest service.
• Reliable, trustworthy and able to work days and nights.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Check guests out, process payments, and balance tills at end of day.
• Check guests in, assist with luggage, explain hotel amenities.
• Handle guest enquiries via email, telephone and in person.
• Coordinate with Restaurant Manager and team for dining times.
• Operate reception databases such as Reslynx Res-Diary and Lightspeed.

About the Flodigarry Hotel:

The Flodigarry Hotel is a small, family run hotel situated in the small village of Flodigarry, on the Isle of Skye. The Hotel is surrounded by private grounds all of which looks out to one of the most breath-taking views Scotland has to offer.

The Isle of Skye is an incredibly popular holiday destination with people visiting from around the world. It is important that the successful candidate is comfortable working in a fast paced environments but most importantly shares our goal, providing guests with the our famous highland hospitality we are known for, ensuring they leave with incredible memories of their experience.

Receptionist

Duties include:

• 5 set shifts a week on reception, alternating between morning shifts and afternoon, evening shifts
• Morning shifts consist of checking guests out of the hotel, taking room billing payments and supporting balancing of tills for the end of day
• Afternoon shifts consist of checking guests in to the hotel, helping with luggage, advising guests on hotel amenities, breakfast and dinner service timings
• All shifts consist of taking payments for advance bookings, dealing with guest enquiries via email, telephone, face to face, dinner bookings, liaising with the Restaurant Manager and restaurant team, the Reception Manager and colleagues across other departments
• Using reception databases such as Reslynx Res-Diary, Trust Payments, Lightspeed etc

Skills/Qualities Required:

• Experience is preferred, although not essential as full training will be provided
