Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a committed Reception Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Sefton (L22 area). The role is full-time, long-term, and runs from September to December, supporting early literacy and maths through practical activities.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups to close gaps, track progress, and collaborate with teachers to implement strategies that raise confidence and independent learning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in education, social care, community or similar settings.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students.
• A passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support and assist the teacher with engaging lessons.
• Support learners with reading, phonics, writing and maths.
• Work 1:1 and with small groups to close learning gaps.
• Track progress and help plan supportive strategies with staff.
• Encourage confidence, motivation and positive study habits.
• Assist with classroom learning as required.
