Job summary

Education First Recruitment is assisting a welcoming primary school in Barking, East London, to recruit a Reception Teacher on maternity cover from the end of November 2026 until July 2027.

You will teach a Reception class under the EYFS framework, delivering engaging activities, supporting phonics and early literacy, and monitoring progress while collaborating with teaching assistants and parents to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Education First are recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Barking, East London, to cover a maternity leave from the end of November 2026 until July 2027.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a Reception class, delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will support children's early development, encourage independence and create a stimulating classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate

You will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching within EYFS, ideally Reception. You should have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework, early phonics and child development, alongside excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
