Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting for a strong and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Reception pupil with ASD in a Birmingham primary school.

The pupil is energetic and requires a confident adult who can set clear boundaries, manage behaviour positively and keep him safe throughout the day. The role also involves toileting support and building a trusting relationship to encourage engagement and independence throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience in Early Years/Reception settings.
• Experience supporting children with ASD/additional needs.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Calm, confident and consistent approach.
• Ability to set clear boundaries and provide positive reinforcement.
• Experience supporting children with personal care/toileting.
• Confidence to work 1:1 with an energetic pupil.
• Nurturing approach with ability to build strong relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Reception pupil with ASD.
• Maintain safety and manage behaviour with clear boundaries.
• Support with personal care/toileting as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN team to monitor progress.

Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Reception

Aspire People are currently recruiting for a strong and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Reception pupil with ASD in a primary school.

The pupil is boisterous and energetic, with behaviours including climbing on furniture, and requires a confident adult who can provide clear boundaries, manage behaviour positively and keep him safe throughout the school day. The role also involves support with toileting.

The successful candidate will be a strong role model who can build a trusting, positive relationship with the pupil while encouraging engagement, independence and positive behaviour.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working in Early Years/Reception
• Experience supporting children with ASD/additional needs
• Strong behaviour management skills
• A calm, confident and consistent approach
• The ability to set clear boundaries and provide positive reinforcement
• Experience supporting children with personal care/toileting
• The confidence to work 1:1 with an energetic and active pupil
• A nurturing approach with the ability to build strong relationships
