Job summary

McLaren Automotive Ltd. seeks an experienced engineer to develop and maintain real-time Simulink plant models for HIL testing across Hybrid Powertrains, Transmissions, Chassis Control and ADAS.

You will ensure deterministic real-time execution and integrate GT-Power and dSPACE ASM components. You will collaborate with software validation engineers, controls developers and vehicle teams to ensure models meet use cases and are deployable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related technical field (2:1 or above).
• Demonstrable experience with real-time plant modelling in automotive contexts.
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop testing environments (dSPACE SCALEXIO, Vector VT).
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN/LIN/Ethernet).
• Strong documentation, version control and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate and maintain real-time plant models in Simulink for HIL deployment across vehicle systems.
• Apply modelling fundamentals to produce deterministic, credible plant behaviour under real-time constraints.
• Integrate GT-Power and dSPACE ASM components with proper interfaces and performance.
• Verify models against requirements and data; manage datasets with version control.
• Collaborate with validation engineers and vehicle development teams to ensure usable, deployable models.
• Produce documentation and maintain models to engineering standards.
