Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to contribute to high-performance vehicle development. You will develop real-time software for testbeds, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop systems, working at the intersection of control systems, embedded software, and simulation.

Qualifications

• Holds a STEM degree (e.g., Control Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics).
• Experience in control systems, automotive, simulation, or real-time embedded software.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and control theory.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink model-based design.
• Familiar with hardware-in-the-loop systems and rapid prototyping platforms (e.g., dSPACE SCALEXIO, Speedgoat).
• Experience with CAN bus.
• Passionate about high-performance engineering and using data to solve problems.
• Strong coding and tooling skills.
• Thrives in fast-paced, high-performance environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain real-time control software using MATLAB/Simulink for ride, handling and powertrain systems.
• Enhance and automate software development processes, including build, validation, and deployment workflows.
• Plan and execute SIL and HIL test cases to validate requirements.
• Develop tools and scripts to streamline testing and data analysis.
• Collaborate with operations, providing diagnostics and hands-on support.
• Drive technical improvements through modelling and simulation for engineering challenges.
• Share knowledge and contribute to best practices while growing expertise.
