Job summary

Computer Futures is seeking a hands-on Software Architect to lead the architecture of a Warehouse Control System (WCS) in a highly automated logistics environment. You will shape the technical direction, drive design decisions, and work closely with cross-functional teams.

The role focuses on transitioning from Python/Django to a modern .NET / Blazor ecosystem, ensuring performance, scalability, and robust integration with PLCs, WMS, ERP, and robotics platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Software Architect or senior/lead engineer.
• Strong expertise in C# / .NET and modern development practices.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and high‑performance applications.
• Background in system integration (APIs, messaging, event‑driven architecture).
• Exposure to industrial systems, warehouse automation, WCS/WMS or similar environments.
• Experience with PLCs, robotics, or real‑time control systems desirable.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and Linux environments.
• Excellent problem solving and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture across application, data, messaging, and deployment layers.
• Lead the design of complex features and subsystems with ADRs and architecture docs.
• Make key technical decisions on persistence, messaging, caching, and integration patterns.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, availability, and security requirements.
• Collaborate with product, development, test and controls engineering teams.
