Job summary

Validus Risk Management Limited is hiring a front-end engineer to join the React-based team building Horizon applications for trade execution, portfolio management and risk analysis. You will work with AI tooling to improve development workflows, participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to real-time data components using HighCharts and HandsOnTable.

The role emphasizes strong TypeScript/React skills, state management with Zustand, and collaboration across quants, back-end and platform

Qualifications

• Proficient in TypeScript and React.
• Experience with state management libraries (Zustand).
• Experience with automated tests (Vitest, Playwright).
• Experience consuming REST API contracts (OpenAPI).
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• Interest in AI-assisted development.
• Curiosity about financial markets.
• Good cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new features with meaningful test coverage for Validus apps including order and risk management systems.
• Collaborate with teams on features spanning the stack.
• Provide thorough code reviews and pair programming.
• Improve UI/UX and maintain design consistency.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (standups, refinement, etc.).
• Advise on tech stack and architecture, e.g., WebSockets for real-time data.
• Develop frontend monorepo with Nx and Vite; improve performance.
• Use Zustand and React Query for state/data management; React Router for routing.
• Work with HighCharts for real-time market data graphs and HandsOnTable for large datasets.
• Leverage front-end monitoring and session replay to debug issues.
• Incorporate AI tooling into daily workflows and ensure quality of outputs.
