Job summary

Coralogix in London is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build and evolve scalable, event-driven systems that process millions of events per second with millisecond latency. You will own features from design through deployment, work with JVM languages (Java/Kotlin/Scala), Kafka and streaming tech, and collaborate with product managers to ship observable, resilient software in a SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with observability platforms.
• 3+ years JVM stack development: Java/Kotlin/Scala.
• 3+ years building and operating distributed systems in production.
• Proven experience building highly available and reliable systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed computing principles (consistency, partitioning, resilience).
• Hands-on data streaming with Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming, KafkaStreams or Apache Flink.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in data modeling for large-scale distributed datasets.
• Familiarity with gRPC and Protobuf.
• Production experience in SaaS: metrics, logging, troubleshooting production systems.

• Lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable, high-impact systems.
• Own features end-to-end, ensuring predictable production behavior from design through deployment.
• Solve complex technical challenges at scale using sound engineering principles and modern stream processing technologies.
