Job summary

CMS is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Paralegal or experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our Legal Services Unit in our Sheffield or Manchester office on a 12 month fixed term contract. The role focuses on documenting land rights in Scotland and England via servitudes and easements, managing your own caseload, taking client instructions, negotiating deeds and arranging completions.

• Experience in handling a large workload is essential.
• Strong academic background or progression towards professional qualification (law/CILEX).

Responsibilities

• Manage a busy caseload of transactions including liaising with the client to obtain instructions.
• Draft easement/servitude documentation and negotiate with counterparties; carry out basic title checks.
• Update online trackers and case management systems.
• Manage completion and post-completion registrations, forms, filing and client signing/reporting requirements.
