Reader in Data Science
Data is a strategic growth area for the University of Wolverhampton. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join as a Reader in Data Science. The School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences is a large interdisciplinary centre for education, research, and enterprise. We aim for an experienced researcher to lead and develop our research and knowledge exchange activities in Data Science.
The School operates across Wolverhampton City campus, Telford Innovation Campus, Wolverhampton Science Park, Springfield (Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills), and Hereford (Cyber Quarter). It includes programs in engineering, motorsport, computer science, AI, and cybersecurity, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and online courses.
The Department offers a range of accredited programs in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT, Mathematics, AI, and Data Science, including Foundation Year, Undergraduate, Taught Postgraduate, Transnational Education, Degree Apprenticeships, and Doctoral studies.
You will be expected to enhance current research, produce REF-returnable outputs, attract external funding, foster industrial collaborations, undertake teaching, and supervise PhD students. Candidates should hold a PhD in a related field, have extensive research experience, and demonstrate the ability to develop research proposals and secure funding. A proven track record of high-quality research, international recognition, and successful funding acquisition is essential.
