Job summary

Agincare is seeking an Ofsted Registered Manager to lead a brand new children’s LD residential home in York. You will oversee daily operations, safeguard and empower children and young people with learning disabilities, and develop the service to deliver outstanding care.

You will manage teams of Support Workers and Senior Support Workers, ensuring high standards, compliant practices, and a supportive, inclusive environment for both children and staff from the outset.

Qualifications

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in children’s residential care, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and relevant legislation in children’s services.
  • Experience in planning and implementing care plans and maintaining documentation to a high standard in line with Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Experience leading safeguarding and complex behaviours management.

We have an exciting opportunity within our brand new not-for-profit Children’s Services Residential Home in York. This service is a need-led children’s LD residential home, and we are now looking for an Ofsted Registered Manager to

lead and develop the provision, setting the stage for a truly impactful service.

The successful applicant will

lead, manage and

support teams of

Support Workers and Senior

Support Workers across the home, while acting as a corporate parent to the children we care for, helping,

supporting and ensuring they thrive in their day-to-day lives.

About the Role

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our children’s residential home located in York,

supporting children and young people with learning disabilities (LD) and other additional complex needs.

As an experienced manager, you will

confidently

lead and

support dedicated teams, fostering a safe, positive, and

inclusive environment where children and staff can thrive. You will play a key role in establishing and developing this new service, ensuring high-quality care delivery while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.

support.

What You Need to Be Successful in This Role
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) (or equivalent).
