Job summary

SRG is seeking a Lead Process Operator to join the production team at a site near Winchester in the food manufacturing sector. This shift-based role operates on a 2pm–10pm schedule, Monday to Friday, with the opportunity for career progression from a Senior Process Operator level.

The role involves supervising Production Technicians, running distillation processes, operating vessels up to 1300kg, weighing and sampling products, and taking responsibility for on-site incidents.

Qualifications

• Recent proven experience in production or manufacturing in food, chemicals, cosmetics or pharmaceutical plants.
• Accuracy in weighing and measuring raw materials.
• Strong production plant safety awareness.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a willingness to learn.
• Effective communication as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Able to multi-task and adjust priorities quickly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the shift work plan is implemented and followed.
• Oversee a team of Production Technicians and ensure safe production.
• Run distillation production processes in the plant.
• Operate equipment including vessels up to 1300kg.
• Pack off finished product into kegs, drums and IBCs.
• Weigh, compound and sample finished products.
• Act as the responsible person on site for incidents or spills.

Salary: £31,741 per annum + 20% shift allowance

SRG is exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturer in the food industry who are now looking to hire a Lead Process Operator to join the production team at their site near Winchester. This exciting opportunity would be well suited to a Senior Process Operator looking to take a step up, or to move away from a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Important note: this role is a shift-based role, so candidates need their own transport and be happy to work on a permanent late shift (2pm - 10pm) Monday to Friday.

• Running distillation production processes in the plant
• Operating a range of equipment including vessels up to 1300kg
• Packing off finished product into kegs, drums and IBCs
• Weighing, compounding and sampling finished products
• Being the responsible person on site for any incidents/spills/accidents.

Requirements

• Recent, proven experience in production or manufacturing in either a food, chemicals, cosmetics or pharmaceutical manufacturing plant
• Accuracy in weighing and measuring out raw materials
• Strong production plant safety awareness
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to learn
• Effective communication as part of a multi-disciplinary production team
• Able to multi-task and change priorities quickly depending on business need.
