KFM Recruitment is seeking a Senior Production Operator / Senior Manufacturing Technician for a Surrey operation. This role supports day-to-day manufacturing, provides technical guidance, and helps maintain standards in a regulated setting where pharmaceutical experience is not required.

The position emphasizes hands-on production, equipment operation, procedure adherence and mentoring of junior operators while contributing to process improvements and ensuring safety and hygiene across shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing or production
• Background in relevant industries such as food, beverage, biotech, dairy or pharma not required
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and process control
• Excellent documentation and health & safety awareness

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor manufacturing and process equipment
• Support fermentation, media preparation and production processes
• Prepare, assemble, operate and clean process equipment
• Follow manufacturing procedures, SOPs and work instructions
• Complete production records accurately
• Identify process issues and assist investigations
• Provide technical guidance to operators and support training of others
• Promote hygiene and contamination control
• Support production schedules and meet targets
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Escalate quality, safety and operational issues as needed

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Production Operator / Senior Manufacturing Technician to join a growing manufacturing operation in Surrey.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional from a food manufacturing, brewing, fermentation, beverage, dairy, biotechnology or other process manufacturing environment who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.

Pharmaceutical experience is not required.

The Role

As a Senior Production Operator / Senior Manufacturing Technician, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Alongside hands‑on production duties, you will provide technical support to the wider team, help maintain production standards and support less experienced operators.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating and monitoring manufacturing and process equipment
• Supporting fermentation, media preparation and manufacturing processes
• Preparing, assembling, operating and cleaning process equipment
• Following manufacturing procedures, SOPs and work instructions
• Completing production documentation and records accurately
• Monitoring processes and identifying potential issues
• Supporting equipment troubleshooting and process investigations
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene, housekeeping and contamination control
• Supporting production schedules and achieving manufacturing targets
• Identifying and contributing to process improvements
• Providing technical guidance and support to Production Operators
• Supporting the training and development of less experienced team members
• Coordinating day‑to‑day production activities when required
• Escalating quality, safety and operational issues appropriately
• Promoting a strong culture of quality, safety and teamwork

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 3 years' experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong experience in process or manufacturing operations
• Background in food manufacturing, brewing, fermentation, beverage, dairy, biotechnology or similar industries
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and process control
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
• Excellent health and safety awareness
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues
• Experience mentoring, supporting or training other operators
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A reliable, hands‑on and proactive approach
• Flexibility to work evenings, nights and weekends

What We Offer

Up to £20 per hour, depending on experience
